Adoption Process
Thank you for considering adopting a pet from Wayward Whiskers. We are thrilled that you are interested in providing a loving forever home to one of our rescue animals. Our goal is to ensure that every adoption is a perfect match for both the pet and the adopter. Read below for our adoption process.

Once you’ve found a pet you’re interested in, fill out our adoption application form. This helps us understand your lifestyle and preferences, ensuring we find the best fit for both you and the animal. The application can be completed online or in person at our facility.

Application Review
Our team will review your application to ensure a good match. This may take a few days, as we want to be thorough. If your application is approved, we’ll contact you to discuss the next steps and answer any questions you may have.
- STEP 4 -
Meet and Greet
If your application is approved, we’ll arrange a meet-and-greet session with the pet. This is an essential step, as it allows you to spend time with the animal and see how you connect. Our staff will be on hand to provide guidance and information.
- STEP 5 -
Home Visit (if applicable)
In some cases, we may conduct a home visit to ensure that your living environment is suitable for the pet you wish to adopt. This helps us ensure that the transition to your home will be as smooth as possible.
- STEP 6 -
Finalizing the Adoption
Once you and the pet have bonded, and all details are finalized, we will complete the adoption paperwork. This includes an adoption contract and information on the pet’s medical history. We require an adoption fee to help cover the costs of care, including vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and microchipping.

Bring Your New Family Member Home!

Ongoing Support
At Wayward Whiskers, our commitment doesn’t end once you adopt. We’re here for you and your new pet. If you have questions or need support, don’t hesitate to reach out. We also love to hear updates and see photos of our former rescues in their new homes!
